Clean and boil the beetroot and potato in a separate pot. Once it gets soft, drain it peel the potato and mash it and on another side peel the beetroot and grate it and set aside. Fine chop the onion, coriander, and green chili. Heat oil in a pan, add cumin seeds, curry leaves and allow it to crackle. Add green chili and saute. Add chopped onion and saute it until it is a little golden color.

Add grated beetroot and cook till all the moisture evaporates, add besan along with all powdered spices cook it for 3-4 minutes or till then masalas cook through. Then add mashed potato and mix well.

Once the mixture cooked well take it out in a bowl and keep it to rest for 20- 25 minutes or till it comes down to room temperature.

Divide the mixture in equal portions, shape it like a patty and coat in oats .

Brush a little oil. Sear the patty from both sides until it gets golden color.

Serve hot with green chutney .
